Installation of rigid floor is much easier with AcousTEC 3 underlay. The following easy steps explains the basic installation method of AcousTEC 3.

The sub-floor must be in principle as below: –

Floor Preparation:

• Subfloor shall be dry, clean, sound & smooth
• Mechanically old adhesives, oil, paint or other debris need to be removed, should be free of dust
• Any tiling works need to be finished at least 2 weeks prior installation works.

AcousTEC 3 on Subfloor. Start off by unrolling the AcousTEC 3 underlay on the floor at least 12 hours prior to it being needed to installation if possible. This allows to settle down the roll crease crated due to roll form & settle down on the floor easily. If you are installing plank flooring, make sure the underlay install diagonally so that the joining lines of underlay doesn’t fall at the same line of plank joining.

Re roll the underlay one part by one part to apply glue on the sub floor.

Apply Adhesives. Now, you need to apply the adhesive using a V-notch trowel onto the sub-surface. Only use acrylic or PU base binder. Avoid solvent base binder which reacts with rubber When the glue is still wet, start with one singular edge of the underlay, and place it into the adhesive. Lay the rest of the underlay down, and firmly press up to the edge. The glue must have spread in an even manner, so make sure that you do this to avoid discrepancies.

Rolling the Underlay Flooring. Now, you need to start rolling out the entire floor once the underlay installation has been completed. Make sure that you try to work in both directions when possible to avoid any space issues or bubbles forming as you go.

Install the Surface. Now you can easily install the wood/vinyl floor surface. Simply apply the adhesive to the AcousTEC 3, laying the flooring on the adhesive. Press down firmly to make sure it sticks, install rest of the floor materials and you’re done!
